On our brief visit to New Zealand we got a chance to see some of the Coromandel Peninsula. We hired a car and drove two hours to the east from Auckland to explore this beautiful area. First stop was Hot Water Beach where you can make your own spa by digging a hole in the sand. Unfortunately we got there too late after the low tide and the water was already cold… We continued our journey to Cathedral Cove which was a 40 minute hike from the carpark. Definitely worth it despite the cloudy evening! The beach was almost deserted so it made me feel really relaxed and peaceful. Cannot wait to explore more of this amazing country!
