Oh Philippines! What a beautiful place. I had always dreamed of going there and when my friend told me she is going and that I should join her, I didn’t have to think twice! We flew from Manila to Busuanga island and stayed in Coron town. From there we took day trips which we booked at local tour agencies. Our favourite one was island hopping, where we got to visit Banana island, Bulog Dos island and Malcapuya island. The beaches on the islands were absolutely stunning and weren’t filled with too many people. Our journey continued by taking a fast ferry from Coron town to El Nido on Palawan island, which took about 3-4 hours. From El Nido we took Tour X which goes to islands that the typical El Nido tours A, B, C and D don’t generally go to, but the downside of this tour was that it was more of a booze cruise than an exploration tour. Also, the boat was too big to go onshore so we always had to jump in and swim to the beach, which means we couldn’t take our cameras with us. So make sure you have a waterproof dry sack or GoPro if you want to be able to take pictures on these kind of tours! Another way to explore the area around El Nido is to hire a kayak or a scooter. Our local friend was kind enough to take us to Kuyawyaw Falls with his scooter, which was the perfect way to see the countryside too. Overall I think the Philippines are an amazing country and everyone should visit there at least once in a lifetime!
