Hvar was the second stop on our Croatian roadtrip. We hired a car in Dubrovnik and drove along the coast up to Drvenik where we took a ferry to the island of Hvar. Unfortunately, we had only one night on this beautiful island because of the tight schedule of this trip. However, it was definitely worth it. As soon as we arrived at our accommodation we headed out to explore the beautiful town of Hvar and on the way saw the most stunning sunset. I was surprised how many people were around after driving through the peaceful and quiet countryside of the island. The next day we wanted to have another look around town in daylight before catching the ferry to Split, but as soon as we got to the town an awful storm came down on us and we got absolutely poured on! Luckily we found some shelter and the storm passed quickly leaving us with beautiful, clear blue skies.
Last summer I took a one week holiday to Croatia with Dubrovnik as our first stop. The view from our hotel balcony was stunning. We went up to Dubrovnik Castle to see the beautiful scenery from above. We explored the Old Town and climbed endless steep steps through its enchanting alleyways. After making our legs sore from walking we made our way to the hidden Cafe Buza and were rewarded with an amazing glimpse of the sea. Dubrovnik is my favourite place in Croatia so far and in my opinion definitely a must-go summer destination.
